She currently works as a dermatologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Westmead Hospital, where she is involved in training dermatology registrars. She is a lecturer at The University of Sydney in the Dermatology, Masters of Medicine program.
Dr Wain has published in Australian Journal of Dermatology as well as international journals. She is passionate about educating the wider medical community about paediatric and women's genital dermatological conditions.
Dr Wain has volunteered as a doctor in Jaffna, Sri Lanka where she worked in an under resourced war-torn region of Jaffna, at the base hospital, treating patients with leprosy and other tropical dermatological conditions. She continues to volunteer in teaching and training Australian dermatologists and one day hopes to establish overseas volunteer outreach services to under-served populations.
